House Hunters demos a marriage.
They were newly weds in love until they had to find a house, then it I all went bad.
He wanted a craftsman, two story, move in ready with no carpet.
She wanted a single story fixer ranch with carpet in the bedrooms and a master suite with a tub. Just a few projects nothing major.
House number 1 was a fixer, a 70’s bathroom, vinyl flooring, shower only. You could see anger in his face when she said over and over, “that’s an easy fix”. “It’s at the top of our budget” he said. She just looked at him and said, ” I will go higher for the perfect house”. “How can it be perfect if we have to GUT the kitchen?” He said in frustration.
House number 2 was a condo single story in a modern building. It was a quick walk through and the agent kept talking but neither one said anything good about it. No garage, no master bath, an HOA fee. You could see them thinking, “Why are we here”?
House number 3 was amazing! A beautiful single story craftsman with real hardwood no laminate here. Large kitchen with beautiful backsplash, modern new appliances and the perfect island. His voice got more excited as they went from room to room. She started talking in short angry sentences. She was searching for reasons to say no but it was perfect in every way.
They went to a commercial break and came back for the decision. “Let’s pick one to drop she said”. “Ok, I say drop number 2” he said. She agreed and they crossed it off.
She said, “I want number 1″. He said, ” I want number 3, it’s the only one I will take”. She said again, “I want number 1, it’s that or we are done”. We went to a commercial break and we all thought it’s something new for the show they didn’t buy a house. The update came after the break, “He loves living in house 3 and she loves living in house 1. The divorce will be final next month.
